Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) Invite Application for Scientific Assistant






Indian Statistical Institute(ISI) is a public research institute and university in Kolkata’s northern outskirt of Baranagar, India founded by Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis in 1931. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions focused on Statics, and its early reputation led it to being adopted as a model for the first US institute of statistics set up at the Research Triangle, North Carolina by Gertrude Mary Cox. ISI’s main areas of expertise are the fields of statistics, mathematics, computer science, quantitative economics, operations research and information science and is one of the few researchoriented Indian schools at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata invites applications for the following posts:

Scientific Assistant

Number of Vacancies : 01 (One) Post
Pay Scale: Rs.12000-16000/-PM
Qualification: Post-graduate in Bio-chemistry/bio-physics/Bio-technology/Zoology/ Genetics with consistently good academic record.
Candidates having working experience in a molecular genetics laboratory will be preferred.
Age Limit: 35 Years.

How To Apply:
Walk-In-Interview will be conducted on 16th March, 2012 at 11.00 AM in Room No.520 (Library Building) at Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata.
Candidates appearing for the interview are required to bring with them the application addressed to Prof-in-Charge, Biological Sciences Division, ISI Kolkata along with bio-data station
(a) Name;
(b) Address and Telephone Number
(c) E-mail address ;
(d) Father’s/Husband’s Name;
(e) Date of Birth;
(f) Educational Qualifications (with percentage of marks obtained in each examination);
(g) Work experiences, and
(h) SC/ST/OBC status along with attested copies of all certificates.
They should also bring the original copies of the certificates for verification.
Candidates will have to report on the day of interview half an hour before the time.
